Splunk

Features for version 3.0 of Splunk application included interaction design for interactive timeline, consolidation and cleanup of program features and search options and creation of a filtering mechanism.

ZoneAlarm OS Firewall

Design for a new feature in ZoneAlarm. This was a new concept for a network tool to extend its protection to various OS behaviors. This necessarily led to an increase in the number of alerts users would encounter so it was important that the users' actions were easily reversible and unable to severely damage their environment.

ZoneAlarm Registration

Redesign of ZoneAlarm registration, renewal and licensing UI. Emphasis was given on larger target areas for action and improved information hierarchy.

EFI Job Properties

EFI Job Properties redesign. This is the primary editing interface for print jobs in Firey Command Workstation. It needed to support an arbitrary set of up to 600 features to support all available connected imaging devices and to be an extensible framework for future features. As a production tool it was important to give operators ways to both work on multiple jobs and to error-check their settings.

EFI Driver

Interface for Windows Firey driver with reduced and more accessible feature set than job properties. Rather than the production printing market this was aimed more at "knowledge workers" who had less familiarity with the capabilities of modern printers and a smaller subset of those capabilities needed on a day-to-day basis.

Firey Remote Scan

Interface for cross-platform remote scanning and job-retrieval program. This was a unique challenge because the user could either be using this software at the scanner location or at their desks away from the scan location.

EFI Touchscreen Copier Concept

Conceptual design for multifunction copier with 17" touchscreen. The primary design challenge was to create an interface that was scalable enough to support a vast number of devices with very different capabilities. The interface was also intended to help reduce waseful errors through the use of the active preview.

Return Path Application

Interface for email change-of-address service. Product redesign was needed to reflect changing strategy of Return Path and to introduce major new features. This project included unique branding and user issues due to the fact that they had to leave the site and click a link in an email to use it. Also, all points of user contact were through partner sites. No testing was done on this version but data from previous user feedback events was available.

Evite Address Book

Previous version of the address book was visually interesting but had major usability issues. Consumer feedback from Customer Support and competitive analysis of other web address books was used to develop feature set.

Evite Create Process

A major redesign of the create process for the Evite service with goals of increasing ease-of-use for new and experienced users. Never launched but tested extremely well during usability research.

Evite/Cardstore Partnership

Technical documentation for a partnership between Evite and Cardstore.com. Used to illustrate user process and data interchange process.

AltaVista Search

Various concepts for improved search experience and related discussion materials.
